My Top Tips for travelling this Summer!

Having had over 10 years' experience in travel, and being lucky enough to have had some amazing holidays myself, I've learned a few things along the way!

Here are my top tips for travelling abroad this summer...

1. Travel insurance! Never travel without it. Save the medical assistance number to your phone before you fly so you don't have to carry any paperwork around, when you’re busy enjoying the sunshine!

2. Be sustainable Try to visit the local shops and use local services while your away to ensure longevity for the local people and area. Try to keep food waste to a minimum. Check you sunscreen is coral and ocean friendly, too.

3. Use a travel agent where possible! Not only can they take the stress out of planning and booking, they can also ensure you have the most up to date information on passports, entry requirements, covid news, and live updates

4. Buy before you fly - exchange your ££'s before arriving at your destination to save time and money.

5. Try to avoid using your cards abroad. Many banks still apply charges for transactions outside of the UK. Travel Money Cards, which are offered by a range of currency suppliers, are an easy and safe way to take your money abroad.

6. Take your time. Holidays start from the moment you leave the house, right?! Make sure you have enough time to get to the airport and check-in, so you can relax VIP lounge, anyone?

7. Pre-book. It's so true that the sooner you can book, the cheaper and more stress-free it will be. Car parking, excursions, airport hotels and lounges, kids clubs and meals - it'll be worth it when you arrive. This is something your dedicated travel counsellor can arrange for you too

8. Tips for kids... snacks! Most of you will know the importance of snacks when travelling just about anywhere (the girls do it for a 30 minute car journey ). There are very minimal restrictions for carrying food within Europe, so stock up. Disposable cameras flash back to the 90's, however if your child doesn't have fancy gadgets, a simple disposable camera is a great way of allowing them the freedom to capture their own memories, keep them entertained plus a lovely gift when you return home and get them developed!
