Beautiful Mauritius

Gold Reward Trip to Mauritius! Staying at the all-inclusive Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Gold Resort & Spa. Situated on the north west coast of Mauritius, perfect for the best climate and dramatic sunsets. We currently have nearly 1500 Travel Counsellors across the globe. Every year we are set a goal and target to become a Gold Travel Counsellor which I achieved again this year! On these rewards, I have been lucky enough to visit (among other destinations) Barbados, Dubai, Ras al Khaimah (UAE) and now Mauritius which I will stick my neck out and say it was the best year, were truly spoilt. We stayed for 4 nights which was just lovely. We had a 2 bedroom villa with 2 bathrooms and open air bathroom and shower under the stars. Great choice of food and the buffet was excellent. Beachfront location and what a lovely beach it was, sandy and very beautiful. Featuring all the watersports you would expect at a luxury resort, banana boats, paddle boarding, snorkelling and jet skis. I was chosen (not everyone got an invite!) for a site inspection at the Royal Palm golf resort with lunch. This was luxury at another level. Very peaceful and relaxing. Ideal for those wanting seclusion and luxury. Not for those wanting to be in the thick of it with a buzzing atmosphere but one of peace and tranquillity. During our stay we had a motor boat excursion with lunch on a secluded beach and snorkelling and also the second day was our ‘GoldFest’ where part of the resort was partitioned off for us and a whole day pool party which went on until the early hours of the night! Our Gala dinner on the last night was on the beach when awards out handed out and those reach ‘Gold’ for the first time were welcomed into the company. Our flight was with Emirates which I can’t fault. Free wi-fi on board and they fly from so many regional airports. We had to change at Dubai (the airport is huge) with just over a 2 hour transit time which was just enough to find the right terminal and have something to eat (great choice of restaurants). It would have been better if the flight was direct but this was the next best option, I would do it again. Mauritius is GMT+4 (3 hours at this time of year) so no jet lag to speak of which is another plus. Weather was ideal and sunny during our stay and although Mauritius enjoys hot temperatures all year round October is the ideal time to visit as it is warmer and drier than in the summer months. So please do get in touch if you need help or ideas and want some first-hand knowledge of the destination.
