Celebrity Solstice

I was one of the agents invited to attend the launch of the Celebrity Solstice in Miami. I joined the ship for 2 nights and can honestly say that it is one of the most beautiful ships I have had the pleasure to visit. The ship is very stylish and has a host of ground-breaking features including the first ever Lawn Club at sea. Tonnage : 122,000 Occupancy 2,850 Entered Service : Nov 08 We flew into Miami and had one night pre-cruise in Miami before embarking onto the ship. The ship was docked at Port Everglades cruise terminal and it was an easy 40 minute taxi journey away from Miami. The whole ship has an intimate, romantic feel - large hammocks in the solarium area, double sunbeds and cozy hideaways add to this feel. The Lawn Club has a large area of real grass (the first ever on a cruise ship). Another first is the Hot Glass show where you can watch demonstrations of the art of glass-making. As well as a stunning main restaurant (The Grand Epernay), there are other speciality restaurants to experience - Silk Harvest (Asian), Tuscan Grille (Steakhouse) and Muranos (Continental). Aqua Class guests dine in 'Blu' which serves delicious cuisine made in a healthy way. There is a nightclub, ice Martini bar and Cellar Masters wine bar for those who enjoy a busy nightlife and 3-tier theatre for spectacular shows. The Spa includes the Persian Garden (complimentary) for Aqua Class guests and features all the treatments you would expect and more. An impressive Gym too for those more energetic among us. Children are catered from at the Celebrity X-Club Youth Programme which features Fun Factory for ages 3-11 and the Teen Entertainment for ages 12-17. Although the ship is very large for some reason it doesn't feel overwhelming. There is space to relax and also enough choice from everyone to find something to their taste. Whatever, you choose to do on-board I am sure that you will enjoy this ship - it is one of the best in its class.
