Cruise & Maritime - Marco Polo - Traditional Sailing

I went along to see the Cruise and Maritime, Marco Polo for lunch and a look around while she was docked in Liverpool. The Marco Polo and the Magellan will have departures out of Liverpool in 2017. Cruise and Maritime are growing in popularity for their good value ex-UK cruises. Home ports include Liverpool, Tilbury, Dublin, Newport, Dundee and Newcastle. Cabins are what you would expect from an older ship and the price but comfortable and have the usual amenities you would expect in a cabin. They are rolling out tea and coffee making facilities in all cabins as per customer feedback. Mostly fixed twin bedded - for those wanting double or a better standard of cabin the Cat. 12 or Junior Suites and De Luxe Suites fit the bill. Suites having tiled bathrooms and shower over baths. In my opinion the lunch was excellent quality and the staff friendly and attentive. The dining room décor was art deco but the small windows gave away the age of the ship but that is a minor point. The ship, although over 50 years old, is beautifully maintained and very clean. Anyone destination led and wanting a traditional British cruise for a good price will not be disappointed.
