Val Thorens Ski Resort, France

2nd - 5th December 2018 Val Thorens, Club Med Sensations in France I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to experience Club Med skiing in the Alps. The Resort of Val Thorens is in the heart of the 3 Valleys. The highest ski resort in the Europe at an altitude of 2300 metres. The Club Med Val Thorens Sensations is a contemporary ski-in, ski-out resort offering exceptional skiing and apres-ski. The resort offers breath-taking panoramic views over the entire ski domain from the main terrace and rooms. On arrival in Geneva we were transferred to the resort which did take two and a half hours, but it was an interesting and scenic route via the large Lake Annecy and ascending into the snow-covered mountains. At the Club Med resort check-in was swift although busy (Sunday is the day everyone arrives/departs) and we were allocated a wrist band for our rooms with a contactless disc to open the door and switch on the lights (no chance of forgetting your key). Meals are open buffet catering for every taste, vast choice of salad, soup, meats, pasta, pizza, noodles - you name it! Drinks included, so a nice glass of red with your meal goes down nicely! Also, entertainment in the contemporary open bar, choice of anything (except champagne). After collecting ski equipment it’s onto the slopes. Even though early on in the season most slopes were open, just some red and black runs closed off but plenty for all abilities to enjoy. Lessons with ESF are included for morning and evening sessions for beginners to advanced off piste skiers. Lockers are provided to store ski equipment. The last day of our short trip but we were able to ski in the morning and have lunch before our transfer back to Geneva. Ski equipment is left in your allocated locker, so no queuing involved - great! Can't wait to go skiing again and I would recommend Club Med for stress free and organised fun!
