Ski Experience

I travelled to the ski resort of Les Arcs 1800 last December. This was a familiarisation trip to resorts in this area.

We stayed in Les Arcs 1800 for a week in Les Alpages De Chantal self catering apartments, they were very clean, warm and comfortable. However, for anyone that is not an experienced skier, you would have to catch the shuttle bus down to the resort centre about five minutes drive to join the ski school. You could ski down to the resort centre from the apartments and catch the lifts there for higher altitude skiing.

During our stay we visited, Les Arcs 1950, which is like going to a snowy Disney Village, very purpose built with ski to door. There was a mixture of hotels and apartments. We went to other resorts including La Plagne, which has many catered chalets, which are great for groups and families, then on to Val d`Isere, Tignes, La Tania, this was a great little compact resort, we proceeded to see Courcheval 1850, a very large resort with some expensive hotels. Our final visit to was to see Meribel, which houses the Olympic Ice Rink and Swimming pool. It was great to try the ice out!.

We skied in Les Arcs and La Plagne, I found La Plagne a much nicer resort and the ski runs much better too. A thoroughly enjoyable trip, so if any skiers looking to book a French resort please drop me an e-mail or call me for more information.
