Vietnam - with Intrepid Travel Part 2
For a large proportion of this trip I was part of a guided tour, organised by Intrepid Travel.
They know what they’re doing for sure. Our host throughout the trip was first class: a wonderful human being! They got to know everyone personally, always made sure we were comfortable, and was a fountain of knowledge. Humorous is an understatement! We were given great tips on what and where to eat. They always asked after us, and when I say nothing was too much trouble, I mean absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Intrepid Travel think of everything, and the whole trip was carefully crafted to make sure the group experienced the perfect Vietnam. If you’ve never travelled in a small group before, I highly recommend it.
The benefits of small group tours Small group tours are becoming increasingly popular for a personalised travel experience, especially in diverse places with many hidden gems, like Vietnam: • A Tailored Itinerary: With fewer people, you can collectively decide on unique sightseeing opportunities, places for pitstops, or activities so that everyone’s interests in the group are catered for. • Your Own Schedule: Being restricted to a pre-agreed schedule can be so frustrating when there’s so much to see. Small groups can adapt schedules as required. • Making New Friends: In smaller groups it’s easier for travellers to get to know each other. In many cases this not only leads to a more enjoyable, shared experience, but also long-lasting friendships. • More Opportunities to Explore: Being in a small group is all about finding hidden spots, unique eateries and less crowded attractions, to become more immersed in a country’s culture. Larger groups may be restricted from doing the same, or just simply find them logistically difficult to do. • Looking After Local Communities and the Environment: Small group tours don’t overwhelm local communities like larger groups do. They also have less of an impact on the environment, particularly in eco-sensitive locations. • A More Personal Experience:
In smaller groups, tour guides can give each traveller more direct attention. They can answer individual questions to provide personal insights into the country.
