Exploring Grecotel Costa Botanica - Corfu

Donna Richmond on 10 October 2025
During my recent holiday to Corfu, I visited Grecotel Costa Botanica, a resort that truly captures the essence of Greek hospitality — relaxed, authentic, and full of charm.

Set within 350 acres of flat, natural countryside in northern Corfu, Costa Botanica feels more like a collection of welcoming neighbourhoods than a single resort. With 357 rooms spread across rustic Country Houses and elegant Summer Houses, each surrounded by gardens and greenery, there’s a real sense of calm and connection with nature.

The Country Houses are ideal for families of up to four, while the Summer Houses — four clusters built around a main swimming pool — are perfect for those who prefer a more central, lively setting. Every building blends beautifully with the landscape, creating a feeling of simple luxury and understated style.

Dining here is a real highlight. Alongside the main restaurant, there are four à la carte options (bookable once per week), including a fine dining venue introduced to celebrate 50 years of Grecotel — complete with lobster on the menu! With over 150 different wine labels, guests can also book private tastings or wine-pairing experiences with the hotel’s sommelier — a truly special touch.

Well-being is a big part of the Costa Botanica experience. Guests can enjoy Pilates sessions (€30 per person / €50 per couple) and access to the spa and indoor pool (€25 per person, or free with a treatment). Sports lovers can make use of the tennis courts (free play or lessons from €55) and padel court (€25/hour).

Beyond the facilities, what really stood out to me was the feeling — that blend of warmth, space and authenticity that Grecotel is known for. It’s a place that delivers on service and comfort without any unnecessary glitz or pretension.

With a 7.5km stretch of natural beach, three pools open to all guests, and a maximum occupancy of around 1,200 guests, it somehow manages to feel both intimate and spacious.

Whether you’re travelling as a couple or a family, it’s the perfect blend of Greek character, nature, and comfort - and a resort I’d happily recommend to anyone looking for something real, relaxed, and quietly luxurious.

Grecotel Costa Botanica closes for the season on 3rd November and reopens in early May.
