NCL's Aqua - amazing cruise experience for families
From elegant deck spaces to high-energy entertainment and family-friendly touches throughout, this is cruising reimagined. Stylish. Spacious. Surprisingly relaxed. It’s already shaping up to be a game-changer in cruise holidays.
Already excited for what she’ll offer to clients looking for something fresh, fun, and a little bit fabulous in 2025 but first see below some more info on thi sstunning new ship!.
Ship Overview: A Floating Playground
At 1,056 feet long and with 20 decks, it’s 10% larger than its gorgeous sisters, the Prima and Viva. It comfortably welcomes 3,571 guests, but somehow still manages to feel intimate in all the right places. The first thing you'll notice is the vibrant hull art, Where the Sky Meets the Sea, by the talented Allison Hueman. It's this dreamy mix of sea and sky, myth and modernity—honestly, it sets the tone perfectly for the whole experience.
Thrills & Fun Around Every Corner
This ship isn’t just beautiful—it’s packed with unforgettable fun:
Aqua Slidecoaster – Yep, the world’s first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide at sea. You and a buddy can race through thrilling twists and turns—I may have gone on more than once... and for the record, the left slide is just a tiny bit faster. You’re welcome. ??
The Drop – Not for the faint of heart! A ten-story dry slide that literally spirals down the side of the ship. It’s fast, it’s wild, and it’s an absolute must-do.
Glow Court – A futuristic LED-floored sports court that turns into a funky nightclub after dark. You can play during the day and dance your heart out at night—such a cool transformation.
Aqua Game Zone – Classic arcade lovers and VR enthusiasts unite! It’s all here, from Donkey Kong and Ms. Pac-Man to the latest virtual reality experiences. Total nostalgia and cutting-edge fun rolled into one.
A Home at Sea: Luxurious Accommodations
Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with a whole crew, Norwegian Aqua has you covered. The standout? The new Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suites—seriously luxurious. They include two king-sized bedrooms with ocean views, a third bedroom, three bathrooms, separate living and dining areas, and a balcony that will have you soaking in sunsets like never before. It’s all tucked within The Haven, a private ship-within-a-ship concept that feels like your own peaceful bubble.
Dining Delights: A Culinary Adventure Awaits
This is one area where Norwegian Aqua really shines. Every meal can feel like a new destination:
Indulge Food Hall – A modern, casual food court with dishes from around the globe. It’s perfect for when everyone wants something different—and trust me, it’s all good.
Sukhothai – The very first Thai restaurant on a Norwegian ship! Beautifully spiced dishes, authentic flavors, and a vibrant, colorful space you’ll want to linger in.
Nama Sushi & Sashimi – Expertly prepared sushi and fresh sashimi in a sleek, intimate setting. Ideal for a relaxed, flavorful dinner.
Los Lobos – Elevated Mexican cuisine with bold flavors and plenty of margaritas to go around.

Hudson’s – An elegant main dining room with floor-to-ceiling ocean views and an always-changing, always-delicious menu.
The Commodore Room – A stylish, contemporary dining space offering global comfort food with a refined twist.
The Local Bar & Grill – Your go-to for burgers, wings, and late-night bites in a lively pub atmosphere.
Surfside Café & Grill – Fresh buffet options with ocean views—ideal for breakfast or a casual bite.
Hasuki – A lively hibachi experience where dinner is part meal, part show.
Cagney’s Steakhouse – Classic American steakhouse fare with all the indulgent trimmings.
Onda by Scarpetta – Italian done right. House-made pastas, rich sauces, and an elegant vibe.
Swirl Wine Bar – Featuring a lovely selection of wines by the glass, from the bold and rare to crisp and refreshing. It’s a peaceful place to sip and savour.
Relaxation & Wellness: Because You Deserve It
After all the excitement, you'll want time to unwind—and the Aqua makes it easy:
Mandara Spa & Thermal Suite – An absolute sanctuary. Think steam rooms, salt rooms, a gorgeous ice room, and even the first-ever clay sauna at sea. The treatments are divine, and the vibe? Total tranquillity.
Vibe Beach Club – Adults only, always serene. Infinity hot tubs, a bar, and those endless ocean views. Access is limited, so it feels extra special.
Infinity Pool Deck – With an edge that seems to melt into the horizon, plus two infinity hot tubs—it’s pure bliss. Families will love the Aqua Park, which is packed with splashy fun for kids.
Family Time, Made Easy
Splash Academy – A wonderland for little ones aged 3 to 12, with games, crafts, and activities that keep them happily busy.
Entourage Teen Club – Designed just for teens aged 13 to 17, it’s a cool hangout space with age-appropriate activities and no parents allowed (you know how it is).
With all these experiences, Norwegian Aqua doesn’t just take you somewhere—it becomes the destination.
So, if you had to pick just one thing to try first, what would it be? I’ve sampled a little of everything, but that Slidecoaster? Yeah... still my favorite thrill. ??
