Is Budapest Your Next City Break?
The city itself is packed things to do, which makes it an absolutely perfect destination for a long weekend break.
Soak in one of Budapest’s famous thermal baths, like the grand Széchenyi, and don't miss iconic landmarks such as the impressive Parliament building or the historic Buda Castle. Visit the Fisherman's Bastion...and definitely book a Danube Cruise.
Budapest is experiencing an exciting wave of new hotel openings & refurbishments, where historic buildings are being transformed into some incredibly luxurious retreats. The Four Seasons Gresham Palace and the Corinthia Hotel Budapest are both elegant and traditional; but with all of the contemporary luxuries you’d expect from a 5* hotel. And the city is full of brilliant hotels, bars and restaurants. A Budapest stay should definitely include an evening visit to the ruin bars like Szimpla Kert – this area is lively, edgy and buzzing and I highly recommend!
Food lovers will enjoy Budapest’s culinary scene which is about to get even more exciting with the arrival of Time Out Market Budapest. This stylish food hall, set in the beautifully restored Corvin Palace, will feature 14 restaurants and bars all under one glamorous roof.
Travelling to Budapest is easy – direct flights from many airports will take about 2.5 hours. It’s a city that can be enjoyed all year round. I would avoid the week of the F1 Grand Prix, because of hotel availability/pricing, unless you are going for the race of course! But otherwise, it remains a really affordable, interesting destination.
