You can escape even further from it all with a castaway sandbank experience. Spend a day luxuriating on a private, quiet white-sand beach, gazing out over the turquoise lagoon, which you will have all to yourselves. Why not go snorkelling before tucking into a bespoke picnic basket prepared by the resort chefs or savouring a seafood grill.

These farms grow nearly 40 types of fruits and vegetables, including coconuts, papayas, cucumbers, and tomatoes, which provides both an income for local communities and helps reduce Iru Veli’s carbon footprint. If you visit Llohi, for instance, you can chat with the farmers about their work before tasting their wares (many of which are organic) at the freshest of lunches served at the farm itself.
