Board the hybrid-powered MS Fridtjof Nansen, a state-of-the-art ship combining luxury with improved sustainability. Settle into your elegant suite, designed for relaxation with panoramic views. That evening, journey through the Beagle Channel, a stunning waterway framed by mountains and dotted with islands teeming with sea lions, penguins, and a variety of bird species. It’s the perfect backdrop as you take in the sights, indulge in gourmet dining, and embark on an unforgettable adventure.

Days 5-6: Crossing the Drake Passage
Begin crossing the legendary Drake Passage, a stretch of wild, rolling waters and powerful winds, and a true rite of passage for polar travellers. Your expert crew and state-of-the-art vessel will ensure your comfort and safety throughout this unforgettable journey as you use these two days to prepare for the awe-inspiring experiences ahead.

For relaxation, unwind in the ship’s panoramic sauna, rejuvenate in its hot tubs, or enjoy a choice of dining in one of the three onboard restaurants: Aune, serving international classics with a contemporary twist; Fredheim, offering casual dining in a sociable setting; or Lindstrøm, where guests can indulge in fine dining inspired by Nordic heritage for an additional cost.

Days 7-11: Antarctica Expedition
Wake up to a world of surreal beauty as the frozen wonderland of Antarctica greets you. The towering glaciers, iridescent icebergs, and pristine white landscapes are unlike anything you’ve seen before.
Your exploration is guided by Hurtigruten’s Expedition Team, who examine daily conditions to choose the best possible landings and activities. Step ashore to witness penguins, and if you're lucky, groups of seals resting on the pack ice. During the summer months, you might even encounter whales feeding on the rich krill stocks.
Weather and ice permitting, you’ll venture out in small expedition boats for close-up views of sculpted icebergs and to access otherwise unreachable landscapes. Optional activities such as kayaking, snowshoeing, or even a night camping on the ice may be available, adding a true sense of adventure to your voyage. All the while, the Expedition Team provides ongoing talks and guidance, enhancing your understanding of Antarctica’s unique ecosystem, geology, and history.
Back on board, you can relax in the panoramic Explorer Lounge, reflect on each day’s discoveries, and attend further lectures and workshops to engage deeply with the world you’re exploring.
