This 15-day itinerary takes you on an adventure through some of Vietnam’s most captivating destinations. From the teeming streets of Hanoi and historic landscapes of Hue to the picturesque beauty of Hoi An and the tranquillity of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam offers the perfect blend of excitement, history, and charm.
Day 1–5: Hanoi
Your adventure begins in Hanoi, Vietnam’s lively capital. Start by wandering through the Old Quarter, an intricate maze of streets with shopfronts selling fresh produce and handicrafts. Sample local street food, such as a hot bowl of pho (noodle soup) or crispy banh xeo (savoury stuffed crepe).
Take time to visit the ancient Temple of Literature and enjoy the tranquillity of Hoan Kiem Lake, where locals practise Tai Chi at sunrise. A highlight of your stay is a day trip to explore the beautiful Ha Long Bay via a wooden junk boat. Cruise past limestone pillars and take a bamboo boat ride or kayak in Luon Cave. Finish by climbing Titov Peak for panoramic views of the emerald waters, before heading back to your hotel.

Day 5–8: Ho Chi Minh City
Fly south to the bustling metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City. Walk the busy streets to Vietnam's famous Ben Thanh Market for coffee, food, or souvenirs. Dive deep into Vietnam’s war history with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels, accessed via a half-day boat tour from the city. For a truly poignant and moving history lesson, take in the War Remnants Museum to learn about the hardships faced and bravery shown by Vietnam's people. End your stay with a visit to the French colonial Notre-Dame Cathedral and the visually striking Central Post Office, both major architectural landmarks in this unforgettable city.

Day 8–11: Hue
Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial capital, offers a glimpse into the nation’s royal past. The Imperial City is a vast complex of ornate palaces, pagodas, and courtyards that once housed emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty.
Take a short ride to explore the banks of the Perfume River and visit the towering Thien Mu Pagoda. Enjoy a sampling of Hue’s distinctive cuisine, from soft banh beo (steamed rice cakes) to beef noodle soup known locally as bun bo Hue.

Day 11–15: Hoi An
Your final stop is Hoi An, a coastal town with a blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, and European influences. The well-preserved Ancient Town is well worth exploration; meander through lantern-lit streets lined with historic shops and mustard-yellow buildings. Visit the Japanese Covered Bridge or a traditional assembly hall to glimpse the town’s multicultural past.
Hoi An is also a must-visit for food lovers. Sign up for a cooking class or enjoy fresh seafood at a riverside restaurant. For a change of pace, head to nearby An Bang Beach, where you can unwind with the lull of waves and sand beneath your feet.
