Days 1–5: Cairns
Your adventure begins in Cairns, a lively gateway to the region’s natural wonders. Drive to the nearby village of Kuranda, a cultural hub surrounded by tropical rainforest. Browse local artisan markets showcasing handcrafted goods or stroll along jungle-framed walking trails, where the calls of kookaburras echo through the air.
Next, board the Ocean Free cruise to Green Island and the Great Barrier Reef. Glide over turquoise waters as you venture to one of the world's most biodiverse marine ecosystems. Snorkel through coral gardens teeming with colourful fish and feel the warm sea breeze on your face as you relax on the boat’s deck.

Days 5–9: Daintree Rainforest
Journey north to the Daintree Rainforest, the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to prehistoric plants and an abundance of wildlife. Take a guided rainforest walk and feel the damp earth beneath your feet as vibrant butterflies flit among towering ferns. Look out for a cassowary or the vibrant flash of a Ulysses butterfly as you explore this ancient landscape.
You’ll get to spend time engaging with Indigenous culture, learning from the Kuku Yalanji people about their connection to the land. Their stories bring depth to the forest’s significance, making this experience both enriching and humbling.

Days 9–16: Port Douglas and Thala Beach Nature Reserve
Continue to Port Douglas, where lush rainforests meet pristine beaches. Take a guided tour to Cape Tribulation, one of the few places on Earth where two World Heritage sites converge. Wander through mangroves while cicadas hum around you and dip your toes in the soft sand by the coral-lined shores.
End your stay with time to unwind at the Thala Beach Nature Reserve, where palm-lined beaches stretch into infinity and native birdsongs fill the air. For those wishing for more adventure, consider kayaking along the coast or joining a night walk to discover nocturnal wildlife.
