Barbados - November 2024: Sunsets, Cricket & Caribbean Magic
Where I Stayed: Coconut Court & Sea Breeze My holiday started at the charming Coconut Court Beach Hotel, with its laid-back atmosphere, stunning beach access, and that classic Bajan hospitality. Midway through, we moved to the Sea Breeze Beach House, an all-inclusive gem where we had the best seaview suite I've ever stayed in.
England vs West Indies: A Cricket Fan’s Dream As Richard is a lifelong cricket fan, being in Barbados to watch England take on the West Indies was a pinch me moment. The buzz in the stadium was electric—singing, dancing, cheering—every ball felt like an event. There’s no better place to experience cricket than the Caribbean, where passion meets party. Watching it all unfold in the sun, surrounded by fellow fans, was a definite highlight of the trip.
Cool Runnings Catamaran Cruise: Turtles & Shipwrecks One of the most magical days was spent on the Cool Runnings catamaran cruise. We set sail along the island’s stunning coast, music playing, drinks flowing, and that warm Caribbean breeze in our hair. I got to swim with sea turtles—a surreal, peaceful moment—and explore sunken shipwrecks teeming with marine life.
Food, Music & Local Flavour Friday night in Oistins Fish Fry is a must-do. We joined locals and visitors alike for a night of freshly grilled fish, rum punch, and live music under the stars. We could have stayed all night but we had a flight to catch the next day.
Final Reflections From cricket to catamarans, Friday fish fries to lazy beach days, Barbados in November delivered everything we hoped for. Whether you're a sports lover, foodie, sun-seeker, or explorer, this island wraps you in its rhythm and leaves you longing to return. I’ll be back, Barbados. Maybe for the next England tour—and definitely for another swim with turtles.
