Blissful Mexico

My trip to Mexico was one I won’t forget in a hurry, with its crystal clear waters and spectacular white sand beaches I felt like I was in paradise. September is the end of the rainy season here and it was quite humid but the rain came in impressive sort sharp bursts to then return with gorgeous sunshine. Xcaret Hotel My visit started with a stay at the Xcaret Hotel which is the only hotel to offer unlimited entry to Grupo Xcaret parks: Xcaret, Xel-Há, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xavage, Xoximilco, and Xenses. These parks are like no other, never before have I swam in an underground river through bat caves to get from one side of the park to the other. The park is located in the Myan Jungle and is full of Mexican charm and is classed as a water park with animals and shows throughout. Top Tip- be careful to pick a Bio Degradable Sun Screen for when you are in the sea at any time. In Mexico they are very protective of the coral reefs. The Xplor park is not for the faint hearted and full of zip wires at tree top height. Choose from a contemplative path or a more adventurous way where you’ll be overcoming unique obstacles. From quad biking through caves or underground rafts there's everything here for those who like to get their adrenaline fix. I stayed in a Junior Suite room with my own private butler and a view of one of the many pools but best of all was the huge whirlpool jacuzzi bath which was a welcome treat after a long day visiting the world famous archaeological site Xichén. We did the deluxe tour of Chichén Itzá which was well worth it not only did we get a guided tour of the archaeological site but we also visited the absolutely stunning Zací Mayan cenote (a sink hole dating back many centuries). This was fascinating but also absolutely stunning. This hotel is great for families but if you would prefer not to travel with children there is an adult only part of the hotel with an amazing glass pool that looks out over the Caribbean sea. Le Blanc Our second part of the trip was spent at the luxurious Le Blanc hotel. This is probably one of my favourite hotels that I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Although this hotel is located in the busy resort of Cancun, you would never know as it feels secluded, quiet and tranquil. This hotel has two beautiful infinity pools to enjoy and is on its own private beach. Sipping a cocktail in the infinity pool over looking the beautiful Caribbean sea is probably a moment I will never forget!. I’ve never been to a hotel anywhere that smelled as good all the time!! I know this sounds like an odd thing to say, but it was so noticeable we all mentioned it. Basically essential oils being infused on every floor creating a non-stop wonderful ambiance. And inside your room is a diffuser which you can ring your personal butler to come fill with a scent you choose. Little hidden gem - on the hotels private beach was a cordoned off area where sea turtles had laid their eggs. The Le Blanc hotel offer its guests the chance to help release these turtles back to the sea. This must be pre-booked as numbers are limited. On the last day we had a trip to one of Mexico's coral reefs reachable by speed boat. We were taken by our host to snorkel alongside the most beautiful array of sea creatures in crystal clear waters. Our host had food with him to entice them from the Coral Reef. This was something I have never experienced before and I was nervous but it was so worth it. Top Tip - Don't forget to pop some sun cream on your bottom. Snorkelling for 30 minutes with out doing so can be painful ;). I really cant rate this hotel enough and I hope one day I can return if not to this hotel then certainly to Mexico itself.
