Customer Blog: Tapas, Beer & Sightseeing, Our Barcelona Break

Lucy Morgans on 23 June 2024
Lucy was absolutely fantastic, I gave her an idea of what we would like to see and do and she came up trumps with this trip to Barcelona for myself & my friend. Everything was organised, and so easy, which made our trip so enjoyable. Day 1… The media were saying that we'd probably be delayed at Birmingham Airport, but we weren’t. We arrived in good time and walked, all be it for 45 minutes through to security and into departure - fantastic. Arrival was smooth and our hotel 3*plus was great. Situated quite near to La Rambla ( a few minutes walk ) the hotel-team were on point and gave us some good local knowledge ie. where to eat at reasonable prices and where to get a great aperitif! What’s not to like?! Our trip was for 4 nights / 5 days and we wanted to see as much as possible; whilst still having a relaxed time. We found the hop-on/hop-off bus a really good way to get around. Day 2… Park Güell, a must, but make sure you pre-book your tickets. Great tapas just round the corner at Taperia Larrard 55. Day 3 …Sagrada Familia - There are no words - just WOW - again pre-buying your tickets a must. Lucy emphasised to me that I should buy these tickets in advance, and I was so glad I did. Inside it did not feel busy despite all tickets sold out on the day that we visited. We then walked to the beach for a beer. Day 4… La Rambla and the indoor market plus another trip to the beach and dare I say it, another beer!! Morning of day 5… Coffee and a sit in the local square ( Plaçe Reial ) with its elegant ambiance and fountain. Here we had had a lovely lunch at Tapa Tapa Plaza. Evening meals were at El Portalón and another restaurant called La Boqueria. Great bars for evening drinks can be found at Plaça del Pi. All in all a wonderful break, thank you LUCY.
