Norwegian Cruise Line - sailing from Iceland to the Netherlands
Norwegian Cruise lines - Prima
I’ve been very fortunate to travel on a few cruises during my career and one I have been desperate to visit with my family is Norwegian cruise lines. I had the opportunity to do join fellow colleagues on the inaugural selling of Norwegian Prima in August 2022 sailing from Reykjavík in Iceland and visiting Cobh in Southern Ireland, Bruges, Le Havre and Amsterdam.
Norwegian Prima is joining some of the larger ships and offering many 'firsts' at sea e.g. its two storey go-kart racing track, the largest set of outdoor games and activities I have ever come across on a cruise ship, and an exceptional choice of innovative dining and spacious lounging areas at sea.
Yes, the ship was new however, it was still a wonderful modern, clean style with many traits of the traditional cruising infused with fun ideas. There were countless places to sit relax enjoy a coffee, read a book, visit a bar, see a show with live music in the onboard American style pub, laugh at comedians at sea, all before you stepped foot near the two storey theatre and enjoyed a show. For the night owls, this turned into a nightclub after the two sittings of entertainment each evening.
Dining wise, my absolute favourite was the indulge kitchen, which allowed you to visit various dining options from one table, ordering from a tablet! And the speciality restaurants, almost all of which are included in the cost of your cruise are in my opinion 1st class dining with service to match.
For the added luxury onboard, guests can choose to be accommodated in the Haven, featured on many of the Norwegian Cruise Line ships which give upgraded accommodation, exclusive pools, bars and restaurant access, and superior outdoor areas that are exclusively for adults. If you have a special occasion or just want to treat yourselves, this is well worth doing.
Life on board and NCL ship is not dull, and for those at sea days, you will certainly be kept busy with fun for all the family - the only difficult decision will be where to go, and what to do next.
