Before embarking on my journey as a Travel Counsellor, I treated myself to a short yet indulgent getaway in Tenerife—a perfect escape to recharge and embrace a taste of adventure. Rock Royalty at the Hard Rock Hotel We opted for the Rock Royalty level at the Hard Rock Hotel, and it was well worth it! Rock Royalty offers access to exclusive areas and added perks that elevate the stay—from private check-in to VIP lounge access, it felt like every detail was designed to make the experience smooth and luxurious. The Hard Rock’s dining options are a treat in themselves. With several on-site restaurants, there was always a new flavour to discover. A highlight for me was the Canarian chicken, a local specialty packed with flavour, perfectly capturing the island’s culinary traditions. Lagoon Poolside Perfection One of the most memorable afternoons was spent in a private area we rented next to the lagoon pool. With cava sangria in hand, lobster served fresh, and the sun shining down, it was an idyllic scene. This moment was pure bliss—soaking up the warm atmosphere, indulging in incredible food, and just savouring the escape. Unforgettable Excursions: Teide National Park and Whale Watching To balance the relaxation, we booked a couple of excursions to explore Tenerife’s natural beauty. Our sunset and stargazing tour in Teide National Park was absolutely breath-taking. Watching the sun dip below the horizon, followed by a canopy of stars above the volcanic landscape, felt like a scene out of a movie. It’s one of those experiences that stays with you. Another highlight was a day spent whale and dolphin spotting out on the open sea. Being surrounded by these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat was humbling, and I couldn’t resist taking a quick dip in the beautiful blue sea. That feeling of swimming in the open water with Tenerife’s volcanic landscape in the distance is something I’ll cherish. Coastal Walks and Scenic Views Mornings often started with a gentle walk along the coast—a perfect way to spend slightly cloudy mornings. The volcanic rock formations and sweeping views of neighbouring islands created a stunning backdrop. Every corner of Tenerife seemed to offer a new perspective, reminding me of the island’s unique beauty. Final Thoughts This trip to Tenerife offered a perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and adventure—just what I needed to reset and prepare for my new journey as a Travel Counsellor.
