Colours of the Far East Cruise
So we set off from Hull by first class train
All Ken knew was we were to be cruising again
I’d done an itinerary of what was in store
Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and more
A night over in London staying in Cricklewood
A few hours at bingo I thought would be good
Starting at the airport in the lounge like a VIP
A bite to eat and a few drinks are included free
The flight was a long one, some food and drinks
A couple of films and forty winks
Short trip from the airport, we boarded Marella Discovery
Shown to our lovely cabin where the next 2 weeks would be
Bad news on board there has a been a technical hitch
Itinerary was changed and couple of ports ditched
Still, we decided to crack on, enjoy and have some fun
We'd still be celebrating Christmas in the Far East sun
Never much to see around where the ship is in dock
We booked on a trip to see the sights of Bangkok
Few drinks on board and going over the days joys
Then treated to a show by the Bangkok Ladyboys
Next port of call Vietnam’s Hoh Chi Minh City
We didn’t see it last time, which was a pity
Book a different excursion, a local cookery school
First shopping in the market which was rather cool
Cutting flowers and some slow roast pork
Our own spring rolls, eating with chopsticks, no fork
Few days at sea, sun and entertainment galore
An extra stop over in a pretty wet Singapore
Exploring the local transport jumped in the MRT
Headed to spend a little time over at Clarke's Quay
Days at sea are relaxing it has to be said
If not in the pool or Jacuzzi it’s on a sunbed
A few activities like dancing or archery are the biz
Or chill at the bar with a cocktail or fizz
Next port of call the beautiful port of Langkawi
We opted for a catamaran sunset cruise by sea
Penang was our next stop and this trip was grand
A hop over to see the beautiful Orangutan Island
Kuala Lumpur was next a trip up Petronas Towers
Sights and shopping avoiding the showers
Final port of the trip was back to Singapore
A special treat today was in store
Marina Bay Sands on the roof with the stunning infinity pool
We had lunch at Wolfgang Puck which was pretty cool
A beautiful meal and not something every day you would do
Fabulous meal and surrounding with amazing view
Sail away party on deck, Chinese dragon and laser show
All good things come to an end as we had to now go
Two last days to follow: Christmas eve and day at sea
This sure is the life, how much more relaxed can we be
Xmas day was a fun day a lazy start with breakfast in bed
Then a drink or two before dinner or should we say lunch instead
Crew put on a pantomime, oh yes they did
A last go on the bingo and casino and lost a few more quid
Entertained by Leon on guitar, sax guy and boys for beat
Then a version of strictly watching other passengers' dancing feet
Ken won't get away with this next time, that will be us having a go
A Christmas complete with carols, mince pies and laughter and even some snow
Met some lovely people on board as you usually do on a cruise holiday
And served by lovely crew, and had a fabulous stay
Now its come to an end, ready for home to see in 2020
Planning next years trips I hope there is plenty!
