Thailand Travel Tips
GETTING AROUND: Make sure you download the Grab app for easy transport and more. Grab was bought by Uber and it’s fast, easy and there’s no haggling on price for your ride!
STAYING CONNECTED: When you arrive in the country get an AIS SIM card - it will be the best £20 you spend!
RESPECT: Removing your shoes when you enter a home or room and dressing respectfully at shrines and temples are just a few ways you can show respect. Make sure you research local traditions before you arrive.
TUMMY CARE: Locals use charcoal tablets to settle any tummy issues and you can buy them at the corner stores. Remember that it’s unlikely to be the food itself but more your body’s reaction to a new cuisine that might unsettle you on arrival. It will quickly pass though.
CURRENCY: you will need Thai Baht for tipping and it’s easy to pick some up from the ATMs. I always pick some up at the airport on arrival.
FOOD: The restaurant scene in Thailand is excellent and you’ll find everything from street food to Michelin stars - don’t be afraid to try new dishes and you can always ask to tone down the spice if you’re not keen on the heat!
STAY HYDRATED: it’s a hot a humid country so keep up the water intake and stay hydrated.
TOURS AND GUIDES: Book tours through reputable companies. I can help to add on excursions through my trusted local partners as part of your holiday package or point you in the right direction.
MULTI CENTRE HOLIDAYS: I always suggest a multi centre holiday and can ensure you have a seamless trip with all the connections and transfers taken care of by my local experts and hotel partners. No stress for you and expert knowledge and support throughout from me!
