Should you stay at Universal Orlando?

As a frequent visitor to Orlando and having stayed in motels, hotels, villas, with family and at Disney many times but never at Universal, I thought it would be good to stay on site there for 4 nights to see whether it is worth it!

So after a ten night stay at Disney we headed over to The Loews Royal Pacific Resort for 4 nights. The bonus with this hotel is you get fast passes included in the stay meaning you can queue jump in the parks for nearly all the rides, currently Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is not applicable under the fast pass, but that one is most definitely worth queuing for!

What I liked about the hotel – you can walk to the parks in about 10 minutes or take a quick and frequent boat journey…who doesn’t love a boat trip! The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a resort feel about it with a pool bar which hosts quizzes, films on a big screen, plenty of music and serves food there too. There is a more “adult” bar restaurant called Jakes American bar which I liked very much. As well as a café for your grab and go breakfasts and snacks and the Islands buffet restaurant and also the Orchid Lounge Sushi restaurant. So plenty of choice but of course as you are so near the parks you may well choose eat out in City Walk instead.

The room was spacious we were on the 7th floor so had a bit of a view of some of the park. It had a coffee machine that they supply you with pods of coffee and tea which is always good to have in the room.

So is it worth staying there I would say yes if you plan on visiting Universal the whole time you are there, but I would only stay there for a few nights twinning it with a longer stay at Disney if you are a theme park fan and a Gulf Coast stay for a few relaxing days at the end of your trip.

Something I am happy to put together for you so get in touch!
