Toronto and Niagara Falls

We flew to Toronto in October for 4 nights which included a day tour to Niagara Falls. First impression of Toronto was it is like a small New York on a very large and scenic lake. It is a very multi-cultural city – think it is the most diverse city in the world! We did the sightseeing bus, which is a great way to get around the city whilst seeing all the sights and sounds with full commentary. If you do not mind heights then the CN tower is a must do with views stretching miles. Head over to the Historic Distillery District for boutique shopping, art galleries, restaurants and with plenty of events and festivals on there is bound to be something extra to see! Lawrence Farmers Market is must to wander around to see the fresh produce of over 120 merchants. Easy to navigate on foot, wear comfortable shoes! The waterfront is a lovely more relaxed area to spend time dodging the bikes and joggers. Take a ferry or water taxi over to the islands to spend some time in the park and on the beach or have a spot of lunch. The skyline view on the return journey is worth the trip alone. We stayed on the waterfront at the Radisson Blu hotel which gave great views of the lake. Large room and only around 15 mins walk to Union station where you can catch a train to Niagara Falls. We opted to book a full day coach trip including a vineyard wine tasting stop, lunch, a boat trip on Niagara and a visit to Niagara on the Lake which is a picture perfect little town. Remember you will get damp walking around near the falls but they are a sight to behold! Have I tempted you at all to visit? If so get in touch and I’ll be more than happy to put a trip together for you.
