Is premium or business class worth the extra?
Is business class or premium worth the extra cost?
In short, on a long flight then yes! If budget allows then I would always upgrade to at least premium if not business.
Premium cabins, depending on airline, tend to be smaller a more personal service in a layout of 2 seats, 3-4 seats, 2 seats. You feel you are getting a more exclusive service. The seats tend to be wider and there is more leg room, which on a long haul flight can make a huge difference.
Premium is not normally offered on short haul flights.
Business class on short haul flights is usually the same seats that you would get in economy but they close the middle seat down so that you get that extra space, so no extra leg room but the middle seat not being used means you can stretch out. All business class bookings are entitled to us the airport lounges which can be a bonus if the airport is busy as they are quiet and have food and drinks included. Nice way to start your holiday.
Business class on long haul flights is a better product. Most airlines (do check with your airline though) include a fold down seat that makes a bed. The seating is usually 2 seats 2 seats 2 seats but often they are 1-2-1 depending on the airline. You often get a small “cabin” space making it a much nicer way to fly with a personal attentive service. Having recently flown business to Toronto with BA I was impressed with their new service we had the two middle seats which has a door that you can close for extra privacy as we were a couple we left the middle sliding privacy screen down but of course if you were on your own you can always close that. Of course you also get all the little extras, amenity kits, champagne whislt you settle in to your seat. TV, movies and games on your own screen......
So do not immediately think the cost is out of reach for business class. Often with agents rates and sales on they are not always as much as you think….or do it one way to try……
