It's Nice To Meet You

I became a Travel Counsellor a few months ago as I start a new chapter after 40 years in hospitality and tourism. I am currently based in Silsoe in Central Bedfordshire having recently moved back from Antigua in the Eastern Caribbean where I had been living for the past 20 years with my family.
During my career, I have worked in Europe, the United States, and Africa, before moving to the Caribbean gaining extensive experience in the hospitality field, a journey that has taken me to 57 countries so far with hopefully more to be added to the list. It is now time to share this knowledge and passion with others.
I could consider myself a Caribbean specialist having spent time in most of the islands of the Eastern Caribbean. I believe that the Caribbean is a place that offers something for everyone and I can provide advice to anyone looking to explore this region from helping to plan a dream vacation, to creating custom itineraries tailored to your specific needs and budget.
However, I would not like to think of myself as only selling the Caribbean and can help you put together a bespoke vacation in many other destinations. I have travelled extensively in the US and Canada in recent years from LA to Boston and Las Vegas to Florida as well as across the border into Canada. There are a lot of great places to visit on this side of the Atlantic.
I am now looking forward to helping others with their travel plans. Having worked in the luxury hotel sector I am passionate about providing excellent personalized customer service and ensuring that you have an enjoyable and stress-free experience planning and booking your vacation.
Whatever your budget I will create your perfect holiday. So whether it be a family beach holiday, a weekend break, a tailor-made trip, a cruise, a wedding overseas or honeymoon, or just a business trip, you can reach out with confidence knowing that with Travel Counsellors’ award-winning technology, I have access to hundreds of suppliers and airlines ensuring you a holiday that is tailored just for you.
For your peace of mind, everything you book through me is 100% financially protected by the Travel Counsellors Financial Trust and ATOL. No ifs, no buts, you won’t find this anywhere on the internet. It is the best financial protection in the industry.
Feel free to call or email me with your requirements and I will respond immediately, I really look forward to hearing from you!

Ziplining through the Rainforest

01 May 2023

If you're looking for an exciting adventure in Antigua, zip lining through the rainforest is an experience you won't want to miss. Antigua Rainforest is a popular destination for thrill-seekers, and with good reason. With lush vegetation, scenic views, and the rush of adrenaline that comes from flying through the air, zip lining is an unforgettable way to experience the natural beauty of the island. The zip line course at Antigua Rainforest consists of 12 zip lines, ranging in length from 52 to 328 feet, as well as a challenge course with a series of suspension bridges. You'll start with a safety briefing and demonstration, and then get geared up with a helmet, harness, and gloves. The friendly guides will lead you through the course, showing you the proper technique for zip lining and keeping you safe throughout the experience. The zips start short and sweet to get you acclimatized and take away any nervousness that has crept in. Then after a short hike through the rainforest up the hill to gain some altitude there comes the longest zip called “the Screamer” which takes you across the valley from the hillside back to the main buildings. As you soar through the treetops, you'll have a bird's eye view of the rainforest canopy and the surrounding hills as you zip from platform to platform. The course continues with a series of shorter zips that take you down the valley over the deep gorge until you arrive at the challenge course. The challenge course offers a thrilling climax to the tour as you cross back and forth over a deep ravine providing a chance to test your courage. After launching out from the safety of the tree house you cross to the next platform on a chicken wire. Then a series of suspension bridges that climb back up the valley you finish off with a couple of net bridges. The entire zip line tour takes about 2.5 hours. You don't need any special skills or fitness level to participate, although you should be comfortable with heights and be able to hike on uneven terrain. The minimum age for zip lining is 5 years old, and children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Antigua Rainforest offers a variety of other outdoor activities as well, including hiking, combo tours kayaking, and eco-tours. After your zip line adventure, you can relax at the on-site bar and restaurant, which serves Caribbean-inspired cuisine and refreshing drinks. Overall, zip lining at Antigua Rainforest is a thrilling and unforgettable way to experience the natural beauty of Antigua. Whether you're an adrenaline junkie or just looking for a unique way to explore the island, this adventure is sure to be a highlight of your trip.

Swimming with the Stingrays

11 April 2023

If you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable experience while visiting the beautiful island of Antigua, then Stingray City is the perfect destination. Stingray City is an incredible shallow water habitat located in the North sound, just off the north east coast of Antigua. It’s home to hundreds of friendly stingrays, with which visitors can interact in an intimate setting. As soon as you arrive at Stingray City, you will be awe-struck by the beauty of the area. The sun was shining and the sky was a brilliant blue giving the crystal clear waters colours ranging from aqua to deep blue. After checking in and a short safety briefing, the experience begins with a 10-minute boat ride out to the pontoon in the shallow waters inside the reef. As soon as you arrive you can spot the stingrays swimming around almost waiting for the vistors to arrive. You can then hop into the waist-deep water and get up close and personal with these majestic creatures. Once you get in the water, you are immediately surrounded by the friendly stingrays. The first thing you'll notice is that the stingrays are incredibly gentle and curious. They will often swim right up to you and even bump into you and allow you to touch them. You can even get a chance to hold them and feed them. The guides provide squid for the stingrays, and you can watch as they eagerly swim up to grab it from your hand, mind you keep your thumb well tucked in as you feed them !! The stingrays don’t bite but they can suck very hard. Swimming with the stingrays can also be a great opportunity to learn about these fascinating creatures. The guides provide you with a wealth of information about the stingrays and their habitats. Remember to take your waterproof cameras and have your picture taken with them as it is a once in a life time experience that you will never forget. Once back at base you can choose to continue the adventure at Laviscount Island where you can interact with Giant Land Tortoises and the colourful mackaws but that is for another time.
