Eiffel Tower views you’ll want in your camera roll — here are my go-to spots
Before my trip, I did quite a bit of research to find the best Eiffel Tower photo spots. I wanted more than the standard shot - I was looking for views that felt special, places that would give me that classic Paris magic, and memories I could tie to a photograph.
So if you’re heading to Paris and want to capture the Eiffel Tower from all the best angles, here are my go-to spots - plus one bonus location to enjoy after dark.
1. Pont Alexandre III This bridge is one of the most beautiful in Paris. With its ornate gold statues and sweeping view of the Seine, it makes for a seriously grand backdrop. Unfortunately, the pavement was closed when we visited, so we couldn’t get the shot - but when open, it’s an iconic spot that feels every bit as romantic as it looks.
2. Trocadéro This one is a classic for a reason. The wide plaza gives you a perfect, head-on view of the Eiffel Tower. It’s also one of the best places to get a full shot without anything blocking your view. I’d recommend going early in the morning for that soft golden light and fewer people in your photos.
3. Avenue Gustav V de Suède From Trocadéro, head down the steps toward the river and follow this leafy path. There are so many little corners to stop and take in the view. It’s quieter than the main plaza and gives you some lovely framed perspectives that feel more peaceful and personal.
4. Rue de l’Université This was my favourite. A beautiful Parisian street that perfectly frames the Eiffel Tower between traditional buildings and cobbled paths. It’s popular, so it can get busy - but if you time it right, it feels like something out of a postcard.
5. From the Seine – View from the Water Seeing the Eiffel Tower from the river adds a whole new perspective. Whether you take a river cruise or hop on a Batobus, gliding along the Seine with the tower in view feels calm and cinematic. It’s especially lovely at sunset, when the light hits the ironwork just right.
6. Pont d’Iéna Promenade - Daytime View Just at the end of Pont d’Iéna, this riverside spot offers a gorgeous, unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower. It’s perfect during the day when the light is bright and the crowds tend to stay up on the main plaza. It’s a peaceful place to take it all in, camera or not.
Bonus: Pont d’Iéna Promenade - Nighttime Sparkle And then there’s the magic after dark. The Eiffel Tower sparkles for five minutes on the hour every hour after sunset, and the final sparkle at midnight? That one feels extra special. Watching it from the promenade, with the reflections on the water and the city lights behind you, is a moment I won’t forget.
Final Thoughts These photo spots gave me more than beautiful pictures. They gave me pause, perspective, and moments I’ll remember long after I scroll past them.
Whether you’re planning your first trip to Paris or going back with fresh eyes, I hope these spots help you capture the view - and make it your own.
