This was my second trip to the Amalfi Coast and each time brings new experiences. I have to say it is one of my favourite destinations and should be added to the bucket list if you haven’t been! The most popular destinations are Amalfi, Sorrento, Salerno, Positano, Ravello, Praiano, and Maiori. And, of course, you can easily pop over to the island of Capri by ferry. We stayed in Sorrento as the base for our trip and were able to explore the other areas easily by boat. Sorrento itself its beautiful and I would definitely recommend eating down at the Marina – the seafood is amazing! In Capri you can get the cablecar to the top of the island giving you the most amazing views! I would also suggest a visit to the beautiful Positano – especially at night when it comes to light and the views are spectacular. I can honestly say when I arrived at the resort via seaplane it actually took my breath away. I know the Maldives was going to be beautiful and I had seen lots of pictures before I went but nothing can prepare you for what it’s actually like – it really is better than any image on a postcard! We arrived in February and the weather was fabulous. We stayed for 10 days at the Siyam World Resort in an overwater Lagoon Villa. Simply sitting on your own deck overlooking the Indian Ocean and watching the Sealife was truly amazing. Having your own pool and slide was also a luxury! There were numerous pools, bars and restaurants as its one of the bigger islands as well as lots of water sport activities. We personally loved the kayaking and the inflatable water park. We also did lots of snorkelling and a diving trip which I would highly recommend. For me The Maldives will always hold a special place in my heart and I feel very privileged to have experienced it!
