However, with business travel it is all about being available to help plan, manage changes and provide solutions so the customer can concentrate on his priorities.Identifying my favourite destinations is a challenge, however, seeing leaping Mantra Rays off the Pacific coast of Mexico was amazing, and the rustic village restaurant in Pergine Valdarno, Tuscany provided a uniquely warm feeling with other unforgettable experiences such as Samaria Gorge in Crete at dawn, skiing in powder at Verbier, Golf in the Algarve or watching a Grand Prix in Malaysia.Whether it is advising a restaurant on a client’s food allergies or organising a private tour in Rome, making sure your travel plans are exactly how you want them is vital. I have been passionate about travel since my first trip to Belgium, which was a day trip on the ferry from Ramsgate in 1968. How things have changed!Since that first memorable trip, I have been lucky enough to travel extensively to Europe, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Bali, Malaysia, Thailand as well as several visits to the Caribbean including Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Barbados, Cuba and St Lucia.I have participated and completed specialist destination training for Australia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Canada as well as Sandals hotels in the Caribbean.I have also participated and completed training for the Heart of England Tourist Board and also how to source holidays for anyone with special needs.Among my favourite destinations are Austria (where I worked for six months) Egypt and Cuba. Austria is superb both summer and winter, Egypt is great for snorkelling and diving and Cuba has a wonderful culture and history.However, one of the highlights of a recent holiday in Malaysia was visiting the Yayasan Pulau Orang Utan Island a conservation project for Orang Utan established 14 years ago and not as well known as some other conservation programmes. Those early adventures sparked a lifelong love of travel that eventually became my career.My first trip to Thailand in 1987 even made the local headlines, and since then I’ve returned more than 30 times - including four years living there while teaching English. My travels have taken me across Asia and far beyond: journeying up Mount Fuji in Japan with my sister and Japanese brother-in-law, exploring the awe-inspiring temples of Angkor in Cambodia, discovering the beautiful islands of the Philippines, and sleeping under the stars in the Dubai desert.Other highlights include cruising through Alaska (with a close-up grizzly bear encounter!), road-tripping through the Canadian Rockies, snowmobiling across Icelandic glaciers, and watching the Milky Way appear above us during a safari game drive in South Africa.With nearly 25 years’ experience in long-haul leisure travel, I bring a wealth of knowledge and first-hand experience to the holidays I create.
