My journey in travel began in 1988 as a YTS trainee at just 17. In September 2000, I became a Travel Counsellor, and I’ve been dedicated to this amazing role for 24 years – which coincides with Travel Counsellors' 30th anniversary. Time flies when you’re doing what you love! Community is at the heart of what I do, which is why I joined the Rotary Club of Alfreton in 2014. I was honoured to become President in 2018 and have proudly taken on the role two more times since. Family is a big part of my life, too. My son Connor, now 23, has grown up alongside my career. Hi I'm Julie, Travel is certainly my passion, having been in travel industry since leaving school.. I love to make dreams come true and memories to last a lifetime , whether a bucket list trip or a regular traveller.. I have travelled to many countries in my time, including Mauritius, South America and South Africa but my favourite has to be the USA.. As a family we love Florida and visited many times but also extensively travelled most of the states in the USA. I did all the required exams in sales, marketing, ticketing and operations. I won most sales prizes every month for highest productivity and an Award For Excellence.I left BA to work in a Travel Agency specialising in Cuba and the Caribbean where I was a Manager. Favourite Destination?This one is tough as each holidays are so different but I loved the Maldives for the white sands and for the Marine life watching the Manta Rays gliding around in the water gracefully in the evening was so beautiful, and seeing baby sharks while stood at the water edge! The fish were amazing while snorkelling and beaches are stunning of course! The adventure does start on the seaplane landing on the pristine white beaches which takes your breath away..But also I think Mauritius is just as good and also one of my top sellers .. here you have the advantage of being able to hire a car and explore the island and be totally safe! Here I also sell lots of weddings. I also love the far east for culture and diversity and Thai food! So where will your favourite destination be..?
