My name is Elaine Simpson: I live in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire with my husband, Rod Bailey, who is a retired fine art lecturer. My passion is Australia - I’ve been a Tourism Australia Aussie Specialist for many years, visiting over 20 times; plus I’m a New Zealand Kiwi specialist and an expert in Round the World journeys. Closer to home I love to sail on Star Clippers traditional sailing ships and have crossed the Med with them several times. So here I am, eager and ready to go on this new journey!Life in the UAE is ever-changing and the great cultural melting pot just feeds my love of people and embracing different cultures, many of which I learnt about through friendships with people from across the region. It is such a privilege to know that I had that opportunity. I was born and raised in South London from a Jamaican family and part of the vibrant Caribbean community in England; that in itself is a whole travel experience! Over many years I have enjoyed putting together our family trips, organising flights, transfers, car hire, train reservations and excursions. Since joining Travel Counsellors, I have used the invaluable in-house company training and my extensive professional background in HR to put together some wonderfully exciting itineraries for leisure and business clients in the UAE, the US, the UK and a variety of other countries. My clients are from a cross-section of backgrounds and professions with varied interests and requirements for their trips, which has enabled me to establish great international contacts that I can tap into for the benefit of my treasured clientele. It goes without saying, that I’ve had the pleasure to visiting some wonderful places over the years with our family; my husband and 3 (now grown up!) children. We explored Abu Dhabi and the other six Emirates of the UAE extensively and whilst living in the region, also went to the beautiful nation of Oman. My husband and I got bitten by the “travel-bug” as teenagers whilst visiting Spain and taking round trips around the English shores. Over the years, we have visited many parts of the USA, several Caribbean islands, enjoyed countless European weekends away as well as being fortunate enough to visit Japan and Malaysia. Needless to say, there are many more places on my bucket list, including parts of the UK, that I’m yet to see.
