My first real trip outside of the UK was a train journey from my home town of Glasgow to Germany at the age of 16 on a 3-month visa. I travelled throughout what was known then as West Germany. I loved every moment. I enjoyed the food, practicing the language and generally just taking in what Germany had to offer. I have since been lucky enough to have travelled and lived in many European destinations. We have a bucket list for our round trip of Australia that included Christmas day on sunny beach Queensland in 2016, crossing Sydney Harbour Bridge in the summer 2017 and watching dolphins as the sun went down on Fraser Island. I’ve watched the sun rise over Table Mountain, sink beneath the horizon in the Aegean and stay above it all night in the Svalbard Archipelago. I’ve slept in a mountain hut on the edge of an Icelandic glacier and a staffed villa on a coconut plantation in the Dominican Republic. I've organised family holidays, culture tours, a product launch on an Icelandic glacier, weddings in the sun and snow, sales incentive meetings and more. My partner Anna ( Hyndman Lahna) spent 3 decades working in tour operation, retail travel, repatriation and for Singapore Airlines & South African Airways.
