My name is Elaine Simpson: I live in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire with my husband, Rod Bailey, who is a retired fine art lecturer. My passion is Australia - I’ve been a Tourism Australia Aussie Specialist for many years, visiting over 20 times; plus I’m a New Zealand Kiwi specialist and an expert in Round the World journeys. Closer to home I love to sail on Star Clippers traditional sailing ships and have crossed the Med with them several times. My 40+ years travel experience started in university travel offices which gave me an unrivalled knowledge of airline and rail routes and off-the-beaten-track destinations, as many of the students and lecturers came from, or travelled to, some far-out places! In 1989 I started my own travel agency for independent travellers and was presented to HRH the Prince of Wales having won a competition for start-up businesses in the Calderdale area. Cage-diving with great whites, luxury safaris, wine tours – I’ve done it all and happy to share my experiences. • Fiji – it really is the epitome of a postcard-perfect island paradise. Remember those old Bounty adverts? Just like that! • Costa Rica - the scenery and wildlife here is incredible. It's like, all the worlds coolest animals decided to up and relocate to live here!So, you may be wondering where's next for me! Well, if I had to choose, I would probably say my 5 bucket list destinations are Japan, Jordan, Canada, the Galapagos, and New Zealand. Hello, I’m Norman and I’m happily married to Janet and we have a wonderful Golden Retriever Freya.So you may ask, why choose me to arrange your travel plans?To answer that I’d first like to tell you a little bit about why I started working in the travel industry, way back in 1975.As a young boy, I dreamed of becoming an airline pilot, having been fortunate to travel extensively with my family to some of the far flung corners of the globe, well before tour operators or even travel packages were conceived. As a 12 year old I would often be found sitting in the cockpit with the pilot, asking hundreds of questions and getting my Junior Jet Club Frequent Flyer log book signed.Sadly due to colour blindness, my dream job could never be realised, but that didn’t fade my love of travel and so in my early twenties I took ownership of a local travel agency; in Wigan, learning the trade from the bottom up.Since that date in 1975 I have been responsible for arranging thousands of holidays and business trips for individuals, couples and families, major corporations, a leading TV company and broadcaster, celebrities and professional sports clubs, including their players, backroom staff and an army of devoted fans. I have been known to charter private jets, trains and dare I mention organizing the travel plans of a major political party during a general election.My clients come from all walks of life; have different expectations and budgets, which I try my utmost to fulfil.
