This is very helpful when making special requests for clients directly with hotels, tour companies and airlines.After my studies, I spent nearly three years roaming the globe on an ‘extended’ honeymoon incorporating a special wedding gift of an Antarctic cruise from the southern tip of Argentina. Other trips include extensive travel through Southern and East Africa, USA - including many Disney and Universal trips, Canada, South America, Australia, New Zealand, numerous smaller islands in the Pacific (Fiji, Cook Islands, Tonga and Samoa) and time in South East Asia (including Malaysia, Thailand, Laos) as well as Japan. Closer to home I love to sail on Star Clippers traditional sailing ships, having crossed the Med with them several times; and in the winter I avoid the British weather by retreating to Tenerife for several weeks. My 40+ years travel experience started in university travel offices which gave me an unrivalled knowledge of airline and rail routes and off-the-beaten-track destinations, as many of the students and lecturers came from, or travelled to, some far-out places! In 1989 I started my own travel agency for independent travellers and was presented to HRH Prince Charles having won a competition for start-up businesses in the Calderdale area. Late in June 2008 I closed that business down and joined Travel Counsellors, providing support and security for myself and my clients. I’ve travelled widely and have specialist accreditations also for Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai etc, so I can offer a comparable service to all regions with the extensive and highly professional support of Travel Counsellors. I grew up to the rhythm of the Samba beat, have been on the best beaches in Rio like The Girl From Ipanema, and have actually sipped cocktails on the roof terrace of The Hotel Unique in São Paulo where the TV celebrity contestants reached one of their destinations. I may come from Brazil, but South America is my passion. Only last year I planned my own solo two-week trip to the wonders of Machu Picchu in Peru. Now, I would love to organise an amazing adventure for you…and unlike the TV stars, I promise not to send you on 21-hour overnight coach trips! Travel and exploration have been in my blood since I left my home and came to the bright lights of London nearly 30 years ago. These days I am happy living in the rolling Chiltern Hills, high above High Wycombe in Bucks, with my three children. But if I am a country girl at heart, I also have a penchant for City breaks across Europe, or once in a lifetime family trips off the beaten track, like sleeping on a river boat in Vietnam.
