My time in the UAE is full of great memories that I will cherish forever as I met so many wonderful people many of whom started out as colleagues or customers and are now friends. On returning to England, I knew that if I wanted to continue providing this great service to friends and family, I would need to open a UK branch. So here I am, eager and ready to go on this new journey!Life in the UAE is ever-changing and the great cultural melting pot just feeds my love of people and embracing different cultures, many of which I learnt about through friendships with people from across the region. I was born and raised in South London from a Jamaican family and part of the vibrant Caribbean community in England; that in itself is a whole travel experience! Born and bred in the North East I live in the city centre with my partner.I have over 33 years of independent travel experience and since embarking on a round the world adventure in 1996, I knew I had well and truly ignited my wanderlust. My passion for travel led to it becoming my career and I now have 25 years experience working in worldwide tailormade travel, 8 of those running my my own business with Travel Counsellors. I have experience in all areas of travel including premium leisure, touring, self-drives, motorhomes, honeymoons, city breaks, cruise, rail, and luxury beach holidays. I have worked in the travel industry in both leisure and corporate travel for over 20 years now. A gap year desire to travel became three years of living and working in various far-flung places, but I found I was always working for small tour companies, at hotels and once even on a yacht around Madagascar!My desire to travel and work within this industry lead me first to leisure and tailor-made trips. The conversation of where to go and what to do when there, to make every trip full and unforgettable with someone is always a great experience. I still travel as often as possible as there is no substitute for real first experience of that feeling when you walk into an amazing lobby or just warm and charming hotel. There is no way to describe the sand between your feet or a wonder of an ancient temple without the feel and sense of awe. That’s what I get to sell. While I have a passion for these trips, my long career lead to a focus on corporate travel over the last 8 years.
