I just love anything out of the ordinary, and will always take on a challenge. I can also book packages with the major tour operator brands such as Jet 2. I've worked in the travel industry for over 20 years ago, starting with Thomson Holidays (now Tui) and then the good old days of teletext holidays …how things have changed! I spent 15 years as an event and wedding planner working at some of the most prestigious hotels and venues, including Weston Park in Shropshire. I have arranged over 1000 weddings and lost count of the number of private parties, corporate events and activity days. I returned to travel in 2012 specialising in weddings abroad and luxury travel, and then started my travel business with Travel Counsellors at the end of 2019. There were so many reasons why I chose Travel Counsellors as my business partner. From Greece to Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Turkey and fantastic beach club holidays and also the Canaries to mention just a few. Skiing in Europe in the Alps is the best fun with family and friends, city escapes just the two of us to spend quality time together for a couple of days in some fantastic cities from Venice, Rome, Palma, Budapest, Prague to Amsterdam! After being out of the travel industry for a while, it is a pleasure to be back in the industry I started in and fell in love with, especially as an Independent Travel Counsellor.I studied travel & tourism at the Bournemouth & Poole college, where a achieved a Diploma. Austria is superb both summer and winter, Egypt is great for snorkelling and diving and Cuba has a wonderful culture and history.However, one of the highlights of a recent holiday in Malaysia was visiting the Yayasan Pulau Orang Utan Island a conservation project for Orang Utan established 14 years ago and not as well known as some other conservation programmes. I Loved the Caribbean that much I have been back to Barbados and St Lucia for holidays and not forgetting Cancun in Mexico. I live in Innellan, Argyll, with my wife, 12 year old son, 2 cats and 3 gerbils, but hail from the Isle of Jura in the Inner Hebrides.I first found my love for travel when I was 20 years old and spent 6 months in New Zealand on a study tour as part of my college course. I became a Travel Counsellor in 2023 when I started a new chapter in my career after 40 years in hospitality and tourism. I am currently based in Silsoe, in Central Bedfordshire, having moved back from Antigua in the Eastern Caribbean where I had been living for the past 20 years with my family.
