I have spent many years travelling and living abroad but am now enjoying a quiet life in the countryside. My passion for discovering new places and cultures began at a young age; travelling to many different places around the world with my family. My Dad was a tour operator and an excellent holiday planner! We travelled all over the Middle East, the UK, USA and Europe. Every destination brought unforgettable memories. I have many memories of visiting unique places, being immersed in stunning landscapes, connecting with our family who are scattered all over the world, visiting old and making new friends, observing local traditions place to place and enjoying delicious food (my stomach was always the top priority and still is!) Those experiences became the foundation for my love of travel and future career. A little about me; I studied Law and graduated with a Masters from UCL in 2007. I soon realised my heart belonged elsewhere and joined my family’s travel business, where I organised group pilgrimages around the world to many destinations. Working closely with group organisers and leaders, I gained invaluable experience in designing specialised, meaningful travel experiences; from sacred journeys to cultural adventures with groups ranging from 15 to 400 people. I grew up as a Captains daughter so travel was really in my blood and have always lived close to the sea wherever I have been. My parents were extensively travelled before we were even born and we grew up with tales of Singapore and the Far East, and the wilderness of the African jungle, with my father living ten years in South Africa. My own love affair with travel started over thirty years ago when I moved to Athens at a young age to start my adventures there. And I’ve wanted, since I visited 30 years ago, to return to Samarkand, now in a country that didn’t even exist then. Strangely, since my travel agency was named Karnak Travel, I have never been to Egypt.I’m quite a fan of group tours, which make seeing a lot really easy, but since my own first exhausting tour aged 19, called “8 Countries in 10 days” I’ve known the benefits of building my own trips and I’ve enjoyed recommending, planning, and booking for other people too.
