Hei, Thanks for taking time out to let me outline my and my partner's experience.I learnt my trade working for and with, amongst others, Colin Murison Small who more or less invented the alpine ski 'chalet girl’, Colin Trigger a one time Chairman of ABTA & ATOL, and the legendary Vladimir Raitz who held the country’s first ATOL when in 1949 he sent 21 people to Corsica for £35 a head!! I’ve watched the sun rise over Table Mountain, sink beneath the horizon in the Aegean and stay above it all night in the Svalbard Archipelago. I’ve slept in a mountain hut on the edge of an Icelandic glacier and a staffed villa on a coconut plantation in the Dominican Republic. I've organised family holidays, culture tours, a product launch on an Icelandic glacier, weddings in the sun and snow, sales incentive meetings and more. My partner Anna ( Hyndman Lahna) spent 3 decades working in tour operation, retail travel, repatriation and for Singapore Airlines & South African Airways. Hi and thank you for taking the time to view my profile.My passion for travel started back in 1993 when after six years of working for National Westminster Bank, I decided I wanted to see the world. I travelled to Africa, India, Nepal, Thailand, Mexico, Guatemala and finally Canada where I stayed for three years working in an art gallery in Toronto, and worked my way across to Vancouver with the same company.On my return to the UK in 1997, I started a position with Fidelity Investments but quickly realised my bug for travel was not satiated and in 1998, embarked on a trip to the Philippines, Fiji and Australia where I worked for St George Bank for nine months. I visited Guatemala for the second time travelling by bus through Mexico up to San Francisco where I stayed for five years. I travelled extensively across the west coast visiting Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Nevada and of all the places I visited, Lake Tahoe is my favourite. I returned to the UK in 2003 and naturally it made perfect sense to me to embark on a career in travel so I joined Flightcentre UK, firstly in the direct stores in New Malden, then moving to Sutton Surrey store where I remained until 2007. I was sent on numerous educational trips to destinations such as South Africa, New Zealand, Rio, New York and countless European countries all of which were fantastic and enabled me to gain an extensive knowledge of how travel operators and hotels work. I happily share this knowledge with customers and colleagues alike with the aim of benefitting their travel experience.In 2007 I decided to move to Corporate Traveller. I was spending more and more time with corporate clients, establishing their needs, cementing business relationships, making recommendations and thus making savings. I am a Travel Counsellor living in Chalfont St Giles. Chalfont St Giles is a great place to live; a great community, in a lovely area including fantastic Bluebell woods, and great schools. My husband and I have lived in the area for over 20 years and our sons grew up and went to school locally, even though they are grown up one or other or both of them periodically live with us. As someone who loves travel, being close but not too close to all forms of transport, airports, ports, channel tunnel and Central London for the Eurostar and evenings out is an added benefit. I love organising travel and holidays for others. My passion for travel began in my teens and after a few years of working in France I set off on my first adventure with a one-way ticket to Australia.
